El presente texto, en forma de relato personal y académico, procura homenajear la vida y el trabajo de Juan Carlos Garavaglia (1944-2017), resaltando algunas de sus relaciones con el medio académico brasileño desarrolladas entre los años 2001 y 2016, período en el cual disfrutamos de un diálogo intelectual intenso y, asimismo, de una amistad fraterna. Esse texto, em forma de relato pessoal e acadêmico procura homenagear a vida e o trabalho de Juan Carlos Garavaglia (1944-2017) ressaltando algumas de suas relações com o meio acadêmico brasileiro desenvolvidas entre 2001 e 2017, período em que desfrutamos uma interlocução intelectual intensa e uma fraterna amizade.
