Who were these sub-delegates and what role played the rest of the political-administrative authorities of Salta and the Marqués del Valle de Tojo, are some of the questions that we also ask ourselves on the subject. A principios de 1810 dos oficiales de la corona se enfrentaron violentamente por el cargo de subdelegado de la Puna. Analizamos este conflicto para comprender cómo funcionó el poder político en la región, en este sentido nos preguntamos qué situación llevó a que dos personas reclamaran el mismo cargo y se enfrentaran por él con la fuerza de las armas. Quiénes eran esos subdelegados en pugna y qué papel jugaron el resto de las autoridades político-administrativas de Salta y el marqués del valle de Tojo, son algunos de los interrogantes que también nos formulamos sobre el tema.
