Sumario:This article investigates the participation of teachers from Capital Federal in the Maestrazo in 1988, one of the most important labor conflicts of this period. In the first part, we make a description about some aspects of the social context and of the union before the strike. Then, we explain the characteristics of the dispute that lasted since March till May of 1988. In third place, we analyze the intervention of the bases, paying attention both to the repertoires of struggle used and to the redefinition of the sense of democracy that these practices implied. Finally, we investigated the positions of some of the political organizations that had an insertion in the labor union: the Lista Celeste (Peronist), the Communist Party and the Movimiento Al Socialismo.
