In the first part, we make a description about some aspects of the social context and of the union before the strike. Then, we explain the characteristics of the dispute that lasted since March till May of 1988. In third place, we analyze the intervention of the bases, paying attention both to the repertoires of struggle used and to the redefinition of the sense of democracy that these practices implied. Finally, we investigated the positions of some of the political organizations that had an insertion in the labor union: the Lista Celeste (Peronist), the Communist Party and the Movimiento Al Socialismo. El artículo aborda la participación de las y los docentes de Capital Federal en el Maestrazo de 1988, uno de los conflictos laborales más importantes de este período. En la primera parte, realizamos una descripción sobre algunos aspectos de la coyuntura y del gremio antes de la huelga. Luego, señalamos las características de la disputa desde sus inicios a comienzos de marzo hasta su desenlace a fines de mayo de 1988. En tercer lugar, analizamos la intervención de las bases, prestando atención tanto a los repertorios de lucha utilizados como a la resignificación del sentido de democracia que implicaban estas prácticas. Por último y ligado a lo anterior, pesquisamos las posiciones de algunas de las organizaciones políticas que tenían inserción en el gremio tanto a nivel nacional como local: la Lista Celeste identificada con un sector del peronismo y las agrupaciones de izquierda ligadas al Partido Comunista y al Movimiento Al Socialismo. O artigo aborda a participação dos professores da Capital Federal no Maestrazo de 1988, um dos conflitos laborais mais importantes deste período. Na primeira parte descrevemos alguns aspectos da situação e do sindicato antes da greve. De seguida, apontamos as características da disputa desde o seu início no início de Março até ao seu desfecho no final de Maio de 1988. Em terceiro lugar, analisamos a intervenção das bases, atentando tanto nos repertórios de luta utilizados como na ressignificação do sentido de democracia que estas práticas implicavam. Por fim, e ligados ao exposto, investigamos as posições de algumas das organizações políticas que tiveram inserção no sindicato tanto a nível nacional como local: a Lista Celeste identificada com um setor do peronismo e os grupos de esquerda ligados ao Partido Comunista e o Movimento ao Socialismo.
