This study analyzes the perceptions that detainees-disappeared people and neighbors of the “El Olimpo” illegal detention, torture and extermination center (CCDTyE) had of the "inside" and "outside" of the center, between August 16, 1978 and late January, 1979 during the last Argentine military coup. The study also analyzes the emergency context of these memories. "El Olimpo" was located in a residential area in Floresta, City of Buenos Aires. Through the analysis of court testimonies, interviews, Human Rights organizations' reports and specialized bibliography, this study investigates the perceptions on both sides of the walls of "El Olimpo" of how the center worked and its location, so as to broaden the awareness of how state terrorism works and the consequences it has in a local level. The main conclusions show that detainees-disappeared people and neighbors noticed partially what happened inside and outside "El Olimpo" although, in the case of the neighbors, terror hindered acknowledgment and the integration of both public and clandestine facets of state repression. |

El trabajo aborda las percepciones de detenidos-desaparecidos y de vecinos del centro clandestino de detención, tortura y exterminio (CCDTyE) “Olimpo” sobre el ‘adentro’ y el ‘afuera’ del mismo, entre el 16 de agosto de 1978 y finales de enero de 1979, durante la última dictadura argentina. Asimismo examina el contexto de emergencia de estas memorias. El Olimpo estaba ubicado en el barrio porteño de Floresta, en una zona residencial. A partir del análisis de testimonios judiciales, entrevistas, informes de organismos de Derechos Humanos y de bibliografía especializada, se propone indagar las representaciones construidas a ambos lados de los muros del Olimpo acerca del funcionamiento de dicho CCDTyE y de su localización geográfica, con el fin de ampliar el entendimiento del funcionamiento del terrorismo de Estado y de sus efectos en una territorialidad concreta. Las principales conclusiones indican que detenidos-desaparecidos y vecinos vislumbraban fragmentos de lo que sucedía hacia afuera y hacia adentro del Olimpo; aunque en los últimos el terror dificultó el conocimiento y la integración de facetas públicas y clandestinas de la represión estatal. O trabalho aborda as percepções de presos-desaparecidos e residentes do centro clandestino de detenção, tortura e extermínio (CCDTyE) "Olimpo" sobre o 'dentro' e 'fora' dele, entre 16 de agosto de 1978 e o final de Janeiro de 1979, durante a última ditadura argentina. Também examina o contexto de emergência dessas memórias. El Olimpo estava localizado no bairro de Floresta, em Buenos Aires, em uma área residencial. Com base na análise de depoimentos judiciais, entrevistas, relatórios de organizações de direitos humanos e bibliografia especializada, propõe-se investigar as representações construídas em ambos os lados dos muros do Olimpo sobre o funcionamento da referida CCDTyE e sua localização geográfica, a fim de ampliar a compreensão da atuação do terrorismo de Estado e seus efeitos em um determinado território. As principais conclusões indicam que detentos desaparecidos e vizinhos vislumbraram fragmentos do que acontecia dentro e fora do Olimpo; embora, recentemente, o terror tenha dificultado a compreensão e a integração das facetas públicas e clandestinas da repressão estatal.
