| Sumario: | Wireless Sensor Networks are used to measure environmental variables in order to supervise different kinds of surroundings and activities. The nodes that compose the network work under strong energy restrictions and their transceivers are the main responsible for the consumption of resources.CLUDITEM is a hierarchical routing algorithm for periodic variable measuring that incorporates strategies aimed to prolong system lifetime. For that, transceivers are kept off as much as possible and clusters are defined, each one with similar depth and number of members, whose headers are rotated periodically in order to balance the load among the devices.Metrics were defined based in the CLUDITEM design objectives and they were applied to the simulation results to evaluate the efficiency of the implemented strategies. The analysis done proved that the chosen techniques were successful with the aim of extending the network lifetime. |
