Sumario:Increased life expectancy has grown into a major average and in the near future patients with average age of 90 years will be taken. It is that they reach that age with quality of life. The preservation of masticatory, phonetic and aesthetic functions of the mouth are considered some of the variables to consider in measuring quality of life. Although it is very important what has worked in prevention, dentistry has not finished occupy a significant space in the area of health, and in the future will face another challenge in the training of human resources for strategies to maintain and improve oral health in very old patients. This not only implies specific learning but must think in interdisciplinary approaches aimed at changing lifestyle, repecting the cultural characteristics of each population group.
