It delves into the perspective of authors like Leopoldo Zea and Augusto Salazar Bondy, who emphasize the relevance of a philosophy rooted in the reflection of local problems yet capable of offering universal insights. Furthermore, it explores the methodology known as new intellectual history, influenced by Ludwig Wittgenstein’s philosophy of language from the perspective of Quentin Skinner, which enables an understanding of how ideas are interpreted in the Latin American context. Finally, it discusses the considerations on recognition by Judith Butler and Arturo Roig, and the possibility of social transformation, highlighting the importance of validating and valuing diverse identities and experiences. : El presente artículo examina el debate sobre la existencia de una filosofía propia de América Latina, abordando la problemática de la identidad y la relevancia de una filosofía comprometida con su realidad. Se analiza la perspectiva de autores como Leopoldo Zea y Augusto Salazar Bondy, quienes destacan la importancia de una filosofía arraigada en la reflexión de los problemas locales, pero con potencial para ofrecer respuestas universales. Además, se explora la metodología denominada nueva historia intelectual, influenciada por la filosofía del lenguaje de Ludwig Wittgenstein desde la perspectiva de Quentin Skinner, que permite comprender cómo las ideas se interpretan en el contexto latinoamericano.
