The period covers the creation of the unit, including its incorporation into the Universidad Nacional de Rosario in 1968, until its reconfiguration in 1973 within a new university intervention. Through the exhumation and analysis of documentary materials scattered in different media and repositories the article reconstructs for the first time, from the perspective of linguistic historiography, the activity of a key centre for understanding the beginnings of linguistic and philological studies in the city of Rosario and their institutionalisation. Este trabajo propone una historia del Instituto de Filología de la ciudad de Rosario entre 1952 y 1973. El período abarca los años comprendidos entre el momento de fundación de la dependencia en la Universidad Nacional del Litoral, incluida su incorporación en 1968 a la Universidad Nacional de Rosario, hasta su reconfiguración en 1973 en el marco de una nueva intervención universitaria. Desde la perspectiva de la historiografía lingüística, el artículo reconstruye por primera vez, a través de la exhumación y el análisis de materiales documentales dispersos en diversos soportes y repositorios, la actividad de un centro clave para comprender los inicios de los estudios lingüísticos y filológicos en la ciudad de Rosario y su institucionalización.
