The paper hopes to contribute to intellectual debates by analyzing the economic vision of the Argentine Institute for Economic Development and its magazine Realidad Económica (IADE-RE). We understand that it was a heterodox proposal of the economy, which with a critical vision had an important presence in Argentina from the seventies to the present. We stop at the period that covers the end of the dictatorship and the beginning of democracy (1982-1984), in order to examine and understand the musings and positions of the intellectual proposal of the IADE-RE in those crucial years. As a main finding, we maintain that the diagnoses of the institution and its magazine were characterized by a complex network of heterodox economic thought of analysis and political commitment of the global, regional and national situation. La historiografía todavía tiene mucho que aportar a los debates de naturaleza económica en los años de la transición a la democracia, tanto en el periodo de dictadura (1976-1983) como del gobierno constitucional (1983-1989). En el trabajo se espera contribuir a los debates intelectuales analizando la visión económica del Instituto Argentino para el Desarrollo Económico y su revista Realidad Económica (IADE-RE). Entendemos que se trató de una propuesta heterodoxa de la economía, que con una visión crítica tuvo una presencia importante en la argentina desde los años setenta hasta la actualidad. Nos detenemos en el periodo que abarca el final de la dictadura y el comienzo de la democracia (1982-1984), con el fin de examinar y comprender las elucubraciones y posturas de la propuesta intelectual del IADE-RE en aquellos años cruciales. Como principal hallazgo, sostenemos que los diagnósticos de la institución y su revista se caracterizaron por una compleja red de pensamiento económico heterodoxo de análisis y compromiso político de la coyuntura mundial, regional y nacional.
