From a feminist and decolonialistic approach, this article seeks to pose him as one of the pioneering voices that critically argued against the hegemonic Eurocentric account. His work is to be highlighted as unavoidable reference material, since it is presented as one of the main and first contributions to anti-racist, antislavery and anti-colonial theory. Jean Louis Vastey (1781-1820) fue uno de los principales pensadores del proceso revolucionario haitiano, con una prolífica y abundante obra teórico-conceptual que produjo fundamentalmente entre los años 1814 y 1819. Este artículo busca recuperar su figura como parte de aquellas voces pioneras que pensaban críticamente desde el Sur discutiendo y disputando el relato hegemónico eurocentrado, desde una perspectiva feminista y decolonial. Se destaca y problematiza la importancia de su obra como material ineludible de consulta, en tanto se nos presenta como uno de los principales y primeros aportes a la teoría antirracista, antiesclavista y anticolonial.
