Rain fall and flow rate field data are used to feed the HEC-HMS 4.2.1. Soil Conservation Service Curve number method is implemented. Muskingum method is used to solve the flood routing. Very good to excellent fit is obtained according to the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency index. The calibrated hydrological tool turns up to simulate satisfactorily real storm events on the basin. Great variability is observed associated to the initial humidity, so at least two initial states related to intervals between storms should be defined to simulate project storms. Adjustment parameters averages and standard deviations are presented for each sub-basin. El objetivo del presente trabajo es calibrar una herramienta de simulación hidrológica para aplicar a la cuenca alta del Río Sauce Grande (CASG), Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina, la cual reviste una importancia central en el Sudoeste Bonaerense. Se utilizan datos de precipitaciones y caudales medidos en campo, con los cuales se alimentó el HEC-HMS v.4.2.1. Se usó el método de número de curva del Soil Conservation Service. El tránsito de avenidas fue resuelto por el método de Muskingum. Se lograron ajustes entre muy buenos y excelentes según el índice de Nash-Suttclife. La herramienta hidrológica calibrada utilizada simula satisfactoriamente eventos de tormentas reales. La cuenca muestra un alto grado de sensibilidad al estado inicial de humedad, por lo que es recomendable definir al menos dos escenarios relacionados con los intervalos entre precipitaciones para simulaciones con tormentas de proyecto. Se presentan valores promedio y desvío estándar de los parámetros de ajuste para cada subcuenca.
