The objectives are to recover their work in the context and investigate the theoretical, political and cultural influences that will be influential in his personal biography, to obtain an approach to their interests. In this sense, rebuilding an intellectual trajectory involves relating aspects of the cultural and political life of a particular time with the practices of that individuality. We will center on the period between 1966 and 1973, during his teaching research and practice. We'll use as a main resource some in-depth interviews and different documents written by the author (like publications and research advances), where Marín regains the Marxist theory to analyze the social reality.Keywords: Juan Carlos Marin, intellectual trajectory, Chile, Unidad Popular. En este escrito se presenta un recorrido por la trayectoria intelectual del sociólogo argentino Juan Carlos “Lito” Marín (1930-2014). Los fines apuntan a recuperar su obra en el contexto, pesquisar las influencias teóricas, políticas, culturales y su relación con su trayectoria intelectual. En este sentido, reconstruir una trayectoria intelectual implica poner en relación aspectos de la vida cultural y política de un momento determinado, con las prácticas de dicha individualidad. Nos concentramos en la trayectoria intelectual y biográfica de Marín transcurrida entre los años 1966 y 1973 durante su estancia en Chile. Utilizaremos como fuentes, entrevistas en profundidad y distintos documentos del autor, como publicaciones y avances en investigación donde Marín recupera la teoría marxista para el análisis de la realidad social.
