Sumario:Metallurgical companies traditionally are considered a masculinized field. ALUAR, the only factory of primary aluminum in Argentina (located in Patagonia), is not an exception. The research that analyzed the conformation of its workers' collective and the history of struggles of its workers have observed, almost exclusively, the experience of the men who performed their tasks in this plant. In this article we go another way, reconstructing the stories and memories of some of the women who worked there. In terms of sources, we developed a systematic register of newspapers and journalistic publications in the region, as well as a survey of governmental and business archives. However, in order to review this gender dimension of the labor collective, it was essential to build other archives that would make it possible to hear the voice of those who had been made invisible by the previous approaches. For this purpose, oral sources were developed through interviews with women who worked in ALUAR. Their testimonies became the essential input to understand the main characteristics of their working careers, and the differences experienced with respect to their male colleagues.
