Classical and modern thinkers have delved into this matter. Nowadays, the study of emotions in politics gains new momentum with the technological revolution of communication, which allows individuals to maximize their expressive capacity. In this context, Homo Digitalis emerges, a political subject characterized by an emotive response to time scarcity and information saturation, seeking refuge in a singular message alongside those who share their identity. Homo Digitalis is immersed in a "permanent state of negative campaigning" that leads to a negative affective polarization characteristic of moralizing the political scene. Thus, democracy advances into a new stage that can be characterized with the neologism of "Emocracy".
