Its objective is to analyze the positions of teachers from different public educational institutions, in relation to the change of government and education authorities, the educational policies implemented, and their repercussions on the autonomy of teaching work and on school daily life. This work is based on a qualitative approach, using semi-structured interviews and a discussion group developed in one of the schools. Based on teaching positions the article analyzes the transformations proposed by the "new right" government and their repercussions for teaching work´s autonomy, decision-making and democratic participation in educational institutions. El presente artículo se enmarca y aborda elementos trabajados en el programa de investigación: “Formas escolares y posiciones docentes en la producción del derecho a la educación en el Uruguay actual” radicado en el Instituto de Educación de la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación, de la Universidad de la República. Tiene por objetivo analizar las posiciones de docentes de diferentes instituciones educativas públicas, en relación con el cambio de gobierno y autoridades de la educación, las políticas educativas implementadas, y sus repercusiones en la autonomía del trabajo docente y en los cotidianos escolares. Este trabajo se basa en un enfoque cualitativo, teniendo como técnicas centrales las entrevistas semiestructuradas y un grupo de discusión desarrollado en uno de los centros. A partir de las posiciones docentes se analizan las transformaciones propuestas por el gobierno de “nueva derecha” en el país y sus repercusiones para la autonomía del trabajo docente, la toma de decisiones y la participación democrática en las instituciones educativas.
