We consider this concept can be useful to analyze the links that existed between women of the elite in the spaces of everyday life that traditional historiography called harem. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar un grupo de cartas provenientes de la ciudad de Mari (1175-1762 a.C.), durante el periodo paleobabilónico (c. 2000-1500 a.C.) situada a orillas de Éufrates (cerca de la actual frontera entre Siria e Iraq). Nos situamos teórica y metodológicamente desde la perspectiva de género, rescatando el concepto de homosociabilidad. Consideramos que este concepto puede sernos útil para analizar los vínculos que se dan entre las mujeres de la elite en los espacios de la vida cotidiana que la historiografía tradicional denominó como harén.
