Soybean production has grown significantly over the past 20 years, becoming one of Uruguay's leading export products. This work focuses on describing and analyzing the agricultural phase inserted in the soybean value chain, during the 2016/2017 cropping season, setting as objectives to quantify the gross value added (GVA) generated at this phase and along the entire chain, and to elaborate the map of gross value of production (GVP). The main product was identified, and from this, costs (services or intermediate supplies used) and the GVP generated by that product were described, quantified and analyzed. The results were analyzed in an input-output matrix, obtaining a GVA of U$S 1,519 million, which represents 39% of the total GVP of the chain. The agricultural phase makes the largest contribution to the total GVA (51%). The GVA/GVP ratio generated at this stage indicates that along the production process, it adds value by 55%, generating 37% post-tax profit, 12% income and employment for 1.9 workers/1000 ha. Although the agricultural phase is a very developed and important stage in the chain, it is not the one that exerts power and control over others. |

La soja ha tenido un importante crecimiento en los últimos 20 años, convirtiéndose en uno de los principales productos de exportación del Uruguay. Este trabajo se centra en describir y analizar la fase agrícola inserta en la cadena de valor de la soja, correspondiente a la zafra 2016/2017, planteando como objetivos cuantificar el valor agregado bruto (VAB) generado por esta fase y toda la cadena y elaborar el mapa de valor bruto de producción (VBP). Se identifica el principal producto, y a partir de este, se describe, cuantifican y analizan los costos (servicios o insumos intermedios utilizados) y el VBP generado por dicho producto. Se analizan los resultados en una matriz insumo-producto, obteniendo un VAB de 1.519 mill. U$S, representando este, un 39% del VBP total de la cadena. La fase agrícola es la que mayor aporta al VAB total (51%). La relación VAB/VBP generado en esta fase, indica que ésta, en su proceso de producción, agrega valor en un 55%, generando ganancias, después de impuestos, de 37%, rentas 12% y genera empleo a 1,9 trabajadores/1000 ha. Es una fase muy desarrollada e importante en la cadena, pero, no es la fase que ejerce poder y control sobre las demás. A soja teve um crescimento significativo nos últimos 20 anos, tornando-se um dos principais produtos de exportação do Uruguai. Este trabalho centra-se na descrição e análise da fase agrícola inserida na cadeia de valor da soja, correspondente à colheita 2016/2017, estabelecendo como objetivos quantificar o valor adicionado bruto (VAB) gerado por esta fase e toda a cadeia e elaborar o mapa do valor bruto da produção (VBP). Identifica-se o produto principal, a partir disso, são descritos, quantificados e analisados os custos (serviços ou insumos intermediários utilizados) e o VBP gerado pelo referido produto. Os resultados são analisados em uma matriz insumo-produto, obtendo um VAB de 1.519 milhões U$S, que representa 39% do VBP total da cadeia. A fase agrícola é a maior contribuição para o total de VAB (51%). A relação VAB/VBP gerada nessa fase indica que no seu processo de produção agrega valor em 55%, gerando lucros pós-impostos de 37%, rendimento de 12% e emprego para 1,9 trabalhadores/1000 ha.
