Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases Migration This text was developed from my second-year rotation in the Social Work Residency Program, at a Health and Community Action Center (CeSAC) located in Bajo Flores, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The analysis focuses on the integration of the experience in two health promotion activities for people with Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases (NCCDs), many of whom are migrants: a Walking Group and a Nutrition Workshop, which is a priority area of care. The objective of this paper is to explore the meanings that the user population assigns to the act of eating, in order to consider appropriate interventions concerning the processes of health-illness-care. For this purpose, alimentation, food and cooking are explored as key elements for the analysis.
