| Sumario: | This article presents the results of fieldwork carried out with people deprived of their liberty in the Prison Unit No. 1 of Santiago del Estero. The proposal has followed a theoretical perspective that puts in dialogue socio-anthropological studies on the prison system with Social Work, adopting methodological techniques of the ethnographic approach. In this research, it was possible to recover the perspectives of the incarcerated persons in order to learn about their capacities of agency to build strategies and actions aimed at obtaining measures to make their imprisonment more flexible. This is due to the fact that the data presented in the annual report on the prison population of Santiago del Estero prepared by the National System of Statistics on the Execution of Sentences shows a marked difficulty in opening prisons through the application of early release measures. In this context, it creates quasi-judicial demands and obligations in the experiences of prisoners, who must multiply efforts and diligences to obtain the judicial sanction. |
