| Sumario: | This article proposes a reflection on the role of contemporary Social Work in scenarios of social appropriation of scientific knowledge based on the experience of the Investigators by Nature program, a program to promote science and research with rural school children and youth in the area of influence of the Santurbán páramo, in Santander, Colombia. Thus, the stages experienced during the process in the year 2020, which was crossed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficult conditions of connectivity for rural education in Colombia, are described. The phases of planning, management, implementation and systematization of the experience are presented, highlighting the roles of management and social pedagogy as key components of Social Work in the field of social appropriation of knowledge, particularly in complex educational contexts. Finally, some opportunities for reflection and action of the profession in the Colombian context are proposed. |
