Through some of their radio speeches, the particular characteristics with which the professionals conceived infants can be revealed, the way in which they transmitted this knowledge to the mothers and allow us to ponder the broadcasting strategy as a mode of intervention for health education in 1940. For this, the work promotes a qualitative methodology with a gender perspective. The main result of this research is that through the radio discourse of childhood, the predecessors of social work demonstrate their ability as producers of knowledge detached from their work experience where medical, social and political arguments are combined with those that can disrupt the subjugated and feminized meanings of the profession.
