It is about i) the problematization of child-adolescent labor as a category constructed by the State, linked to a duty to be legal and normative, and ii) the consequent transformation in the way of mentioning such practices, beginning to speak of children and adolescents who work. The name change implies a way of approaching, conceiving and understanding the broader problem, less preconceived, that starts from listening to its own protagonists. Against an abstract, homogeneous and universal view of child-adolescent labor: prohibition or regulation, I propose a situated, singular and territorialized way of looking at the problem. From that place I enunciate the proposal that I share in this work. El artículo presenta una serie de reflexiones teórico-metodológicas acontecidas en el acercamiento al campo de estudio –y su reconstrucción– que se sintetizan en una transformación conceptual central del proceso de investigación que llevo adelante. Se trata de i) la problematización del trabajo infantil-adolescente como categoría construida estatalmente, ligada a un deber ser legal y normativo, y ii) la consecuentemente transformación en el modo de mencionar tales prácticas comenzando a hablar de niñes y adolescentes que trabajan. El cambio de denominación implica una forma de acercarme, concebir y comprender el problema más amplia, menos preconcebida, que parte de la escucha de sus propies protagonistas. Contra una mirada abstracta, homogénea y universal sobre trabajo infantil-adolescente: prohibición o regulación propongo una forma situada, singular y territorializada de ver el problema.
