The book is a collection of eleven original research articles written by teachers and researchers from Linguistics and Education, and is divided into three chapters in a biographical fashion in order to show Dr. Solana’s rising expertise over the years. Chapter I contains all her contributions to Computational Linguistics, Chapter II contains studies on language acquisition and teaching languages and Chapter III presents two works on discourse analysis of her own. We believe that this book is of academic and pedagogical importance since it marks a turning point in the research and investigation on this field. The book is in the UNR repository as a sample of free and democratic access to scientific production. 2 In the Background Notes, Carolina Tramallino is credited as the editor and Bárbara Méndez is credited for her contributions to this book. Carolina Tramallino1 nos presenta un libro homenaje destinado a la Dra. Zulema Solana, quien fuera docente e investigadora de la Facultad de Humanidades y Artes de la UNR. Como tal reúne once artículos de investigación originales que fueron producidos por docentes e investigadores provenientes de las áreas de Lingüística y Educación. La variedad de capítulos muestra de algún modo se diría biográfico lo que fue la vasta carrera de la Dra. Solana. Se divide en tres capítulos: el capítulo I integra contribuciones referidas a la lingüística computacional, el capítulo II está compuesto por estudios acerca de la adquisición y enseñanza de lenguas y por último, el capítulo III incluye dos trabajos que analizan el discurso. La importancia académica y pedagógica de esta publicación radica en que abre un punto de inflexión en las investigaciones en este campo. Dicho libro se encuentra en el repositorio de la UNR como parte de un trabajo que avala el acceso libre y democrático a la producción científica. 1Se declara en la ficha técnica que Carolina Tramallino es la editora y que Bárbara Méndez realiza contribuciones sobre este libro.
