The aim of this research is to analyze pieces of written discourse of engineering students in the first and second years of their undergraduate studies by means of the linguistic engine NooJ which makes it possible to formalize different linguistic phenomena. From that analysis, examples of the structure studied are highlighted and examined together with the students. The goal is to develop university students’ metalinguistic skills in order to improve their discourse production. Algunas teorías lingüísticas describen la manifestación de la concordancia en número entre el sintagma nominal sujeto y el verbo como una operación puramente sintáctica. Sin embargo, cuando el sintagma nominal se complejiza con la inclusión de nombres con distintos rasgos [±plural] resulta necesario recurrir a interpretaciones semántico-pragmáticas para explicar las opciones que realiza el hablante. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar muestras de escrituras de alumnos universitarios de primer y segundo nivel de ingeniería por medio del procesador lingüístico NooJ que permite la formalización de lenguajes naturales. A partir de dicho análisis, se extraen ejemplos de la secuencia estudiada para observar junto con los alumnos las características de cada producción y desarrollar sus capacidades metalingüísticas. Se busca de esta manera mejorar las habilidades discursivas de los alumnos universitarios.
