To do so, the reports carried out by the team of economic journalists of the weekly Mercado are analysed in relation to other journalistic sources, statistics and testimonials that allow us to reconstruct the economy of the campaign during the transition to democracy. The radical economists surveyed would be central protagonists of the economic policy of radicalism in the government, especially during the stage of Minister Bernardo Grinspun (1983-1985), which allowed the premature identification of many of the tensions that would be faced on various fronts (foreign debt, inflation, financial system, etc.). It was observed in the discussions opened by the economic leaders of radicalism that the priority issues were foreign debt, reactivation, inflation and the financial system. Despite the similarities, there were also some differences on issues that revolved around how to reactivate the economy, how to induce a reduction in inflation, the real possibilities of paying the external debt or how to manage the financial system, which foreshadowed the tensions to come.
