This article explores the revitalization of critical geopolitics in response to the challenges of globalization and recent geopolitical changes, highlighting its relevance in contemporary analysis. It uses a combination of textual and discursive analysis, highlighting the constructivist approach to identities and power dynamics. The results indicate that critical geopolitics provides valuable tools for analyzing identities and power dynamics, although it faces challenges such as its limited influence on practical politics. Limitations include the ontological gap between critical and neoclassical geopolitics, and its exclusive use by human geographers. It is concluded that collaboration between both currents can enrich the analysis of geopolitical phenomena and suggests the need to integrate more social disciplines to strengthen their impact. La geopolítica ha resurgido con fuerza debido a eventos como la anexión de Crimea y la invasión de Ucrania, que evidencian una redistribución del poder global. Este artículo explora la revitalización de la geopolítica crítica en respuesta a los desafíos de la globalización y los recientes cambios geopolíticos, al destacar su relevancia en el análisis contemporáneo. Utiliza una combinación de análisis textual y discursivo, y pone de relieve el enfoque constructivista sobre las identidades y dinámicas de poder. Los resultados indican que la geopolítica crítica proporciona herramientas valiosas para analizar identidades y dinámicas de poder, aunque enfrenta desafíos como su limitada influencia en la política práctica. Las limitaciones incluyen la brecha ontológica entre geopolítica crítica y neoclásica, y su uso exclusivo por geógrafos humanos. Se concluye que la colaboración entre ambas corrientes puede enriquecer el análisis de fenómenos geopolíticos y sugiere la necesidad de integrar más disciplinas sociales para fortalecer su impacto.
