This article reconstructs and analyzes the trajectory of agroecological public policies between 1990 and 2023 through a qualitative and exploratory approach based on the documentary analysis of 27 national and provincial initiatives. The study identified the policy instruments and target populations, revealing a predominance of technical assistance and training, consistent with a production-centered perspective, alongside various forms of engagement with social organizations. As a result, the period 2019–2023 is referred to here as the “agroecological spring”, an unfinished phase of institutional expansion that enabled new forms of state inclusion and, in some cases, transcended the traditional tension between institutionalization and autonomy, reflecting a spectrum of inter-institutional linkages. Overall, the study provides an overview of the agroecological institutional framework in Argentina and constitutes a starting point for deepening debates on the future of public policies in this field.
