Uno de los problemascentrales que recorren la obra de William Blake es cómo reconciliar el deseo humano y la naturaleza o mundo de los fenómenos. El siguiente trabajo se propone explorar cómo llega Blake a esa reconciliación. Describiremos loscuatro estados psíquicos que trazan el camino desde la mayor separación entredeseo y naturaleza, hasta su reconciliación. Esos estados son Ulro, o la abstracción; Generación, o la experiencia; Beulah, o la inocencia; y Edén, o la plenitud de la imaginación.En el recorrido a través de esos estados, Blake plantea una crítica a la modernidad tecnológica y una idea de vida inseparable de la imaginación creativa de cada individuo.
