Saussure’s Course in General Linguistics (1916) presents a series of coincidences with the Hegelian theory about the sign we seek to expose and reveal. Subsequently, our article will bedivided according to these next axis: 1) the sign’s psychic nature; 2) the sign’s definition, arbitrariness and value; 3) the concept of symbol; and 4) language as a system.Lastly, we shall suggest a Hegelian interpretation of Saussure’s sign, putting special emphasis on the notion of value. En la Enciclopedia de las ciencias filosóficas publicada en 1817 Hegel declaraba “Die Rede und ihr System, die Sprache [El habla y su sistema, la lengua]” (2005, p. 503), estableciendo por primera vez la separación entre lengua y habla. Además, el filósofoalemán teorizaba sobre las nociones de signo y símbolo.El Curso de lingüística general (1916) de Saussure manifiesta una serie de coincidencias en relación a la teoría hegeliana del signo que buscamos evidenciar y exponer. Nuestro trabajo, entonces, se dividirá en los siguientes ejes: 1) la naturaleza psíquica del signo; 2) la definición, arbitrariedad y valor delsigno; 3) el concepto de símbolo y 4) la lengua como sistema.Finalmente proponemos una interpretación hegeliana del signo saussureano, haciendo hincapié en la noción de valor.
