However, with the new century that momentum seemed to run out. After 10 years of those works, urban archeology took an unprecedented course, involving anthropological concepts, popular memory and building new research objects. This conference, held at the Fontanarrosa Cultural Center on October 4, 2019, 30 years after that beginning, seeks a reflection on the history of the discipline. In this new era of Rosario’s urban archeology, this conference proposes an appropriation of archaeological knowledge by part of all, foreshadowing a more reflective stage, mostly integrated to society. La Arqueología urbana rosarina se inició en 1989, mediante una serie de proyectos municipales, produciendo un amplio conocimiento sobre el pasado de la ciudad. Aunque con escasas publicaciones, esta etapa fue sumamente fructífera, tanto en la identificación de los materiales hallados como en la definición de sitios arqueológicos de gran potencial científico. Sin embargo, con el nuevo siglo ese impulso pareció agotarse. Pasados 10 años de aquéllos trabajos, la Arqueología urbana tomó un cauce inédito, al articularse tanto con conceptos antropológicos como de la memoria popular, construyendo nuevos objetos de investigación. La presente conferencia, dictada en el Centro Cultural Fontanarrosa el 4 de octubre de 2019, a 30 años de aquel inicio busca una reflexión sobre la historia de la disciplina y en esta nueva etapa de la Arqueología urbana rosarina, propone una apropiación del saber arqueológico por parte de todos y todas, prefigurando una era etapa más reflexiva e integrada a la sociedad.
