Although each branch has its own rhythm, orientation and deviations, none of them stands alone; it is the organic network that extends between them and the main trunk that allows them to become strong and to continue advancing, building a scientific field that in turn connects with others. The notion of a solitary science, enclosed in its own concepts and with professionals focused only on their own advances, was replaced by that of different teams connected to each other, collaborating or competing, but always aware of the proposals of others and seeking to integrate ideas, theories and data from various origins. Aunque cada rama tiene su propio ritmo, orientación y desvíos, ninguna se sostiene sola; es la red orgánica que se extiende entre ellas y el tronco principal la que les permite hacerse fuertes y seguir avanzando, construyendo un campo científico que a su vez se conecta con otros. La noción de una ciencia solitaria, encerrada en sus propios conceptos y con profesionales enfocados solo en sus avances fue reemplazada por la de distintos equipos conectados entre sí, colaborando o compitiendo, pero siempre enterados de las propuestas de otros y buscando integrar ideas, teorías y datos de orígenes variados. Quase sem exceção, as disciplinas científicas desenvolvem-se atualmente como uma soma de especialidades que, como os ramos de uma árvore, crescem simultaneamente, separando-se e entrelaçando-se para cobrir uma área específica de investigação.
