| Sumario: | This article analyzes the evolution of the United States' positioning on international and regional security in the 21st century, within the context of an increasingly competitive and multipolar global order. Following the 2008 financial crisis and the rise of China, Washington has progressively reformulated its strategies, assigning a central role to the maritime domain as a key axis of its global and regional projection. The paper examines how recent U.S. security strategies have combined traditional and non-traditional elements, and how the maritime dimension has become a critical instrument in the context of growing interstate rivalry and the consolidation of spheres of influence. The analysis is based on official documents and specialized literature and adopts a descriptive-analytical approach to trace key transformations and continuities in U.S. policy. |
