From the Salinas Grandes salt flat and Guayatayoc Lagoon case in northwestern Argentina, the power relations rooted in economic activity and in local institutions that perpetuate ecocolonialism in the region are identified as well as the reaction of local indigenous communities. El trabajo analiza la relación conflictiva entre la actual transición energética global y sus consecuencias para la industria extractiva del litio desde un enfoque integrado de economía y ecología políticas. A partir del caso del Salar de Salinas Grandes y la Laguna de Guayatayoc en el noroeste de Argentina, se identifican las relaciones de poder arraigadas en la actividad económica y en las instituciones locales que perpetúan el eco-colonialismo en la región y la reacción de las comunidades locales indígenas.
