| Sumario: | This paper analyzes a set of files referring to the choice of school textbooks initiated by the National Council of Education (Argentina) in 1934. In the first section, we contextualize trends in state policy regarding books for school circulation. Secondly, we present salient notes from the historical period to which we refer. Third, we characterize and describe the documents examined in this article. Then, we make an approach to the titles required by schools in the Provinces of Salta, Catamarca, San Juan and Buenos Aires; and the National Territories of Chubut, Neuquén, La Pampa and Misiones with emphasis on the observations recorded in the forms. The fifth section recovers arguments used by teachers to support their choices and innovative features of the books with the highest application rates. To close the article, we present conclusions that emerge from the analysis of the actions of Sectional Inspections and schools in relation to this affair: the devices used to operationalize this procedure, the tendency towards bibliographic renewal, marks on the reception of bibliography for school used by different actors of the educational system and the recovery of voices of teachers from different parts of the country. |
