Organized by the Summer Cuenca festival and the Cuenca headquarters of the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP), the congress was sponsored by the City of Cuenca Consortium, the Castilla-La Mancha Community Board and the Department of Didactics of Physical Education, Artistic and Music of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. All the activities were broadcast live on the YouTube channel of Estival Cuenca and the International Meeting of Music Teachers of Cuenca. Its main objective was to promote a dialogue in pursuit of the union and enhancement of education and musical training in all educational stages: associations, groups, early childhood education, primary, secondary, music schools, creative schools, conservatories or university. A pesar de la pandemia, el Encuentro Internacional de Docentes de Música de Cuenca/X Jornadas de Didáctica de la Música y Musicología tuvo lugar entre el viernes 13 y el domingo 15 de noviembre de 2020. De forma lógica, tuvo que adaptar su formato y se desarrolló en línea. Así, se desarrollaron cuatro conferencias grupales y treinta y cinco comunicaciones. Organizado por el festival Estival Cuenca y la sede de Cuenca de la Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), el congreso estuvo patrocinado por el Consorcio Ciudad de Cuenca, la Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha y el Departamento de Didáctica de la Educación Física, Artística y Música de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. Todas las actividades se emitieron en directo en el canal de YouTube de Estival Cuenca y en el del Encuentro Internacional de Docentes de Música de Cuenca. Su principal objetivo fue propiciar un diálogo en pos de la unión y puesta en valor de la educación y la formación musical en todas las etapas educativas: asociaciones, agrupaciones, educación infantil, primaria, secundaria, escuelas de música, escuelas creativas, conservatorios o universidad.
