This crisis afected PT’s project generating towards 2013 street protests of the working class who was strongly afected in different aspects of its eveyday life. These protests expressed the weaknesses of the PT social and political project. Which were the main features of the policies developed by PT between 2003 and 2016 that had an impact on social and labour rights? Did they provide positive elements and advances or did they turn into failures that increased the deep crisis that demolished PT governments? The purpose of this article is to offer a critical assesment of this experience to give some answer to these concerns. La actual crisis brasileña deriva de los procesos de mundialización y financiarización del capital, particularmente del impacto proyectado por la crisis del 2008 hacia el conjunto del sistema. Esta crisis afectó el proyecto del Partido de los Trabajadores (PT), generando hacia 2013, protestas callejeras protagonizadas por la clase trabajadora, la cual se veía profundamente afectada en diversos aspectos de su vida. Dichas protestas expresaban las falencias del proyecto social y político del PT. ¿Cuáles fueron los principales componentes de las políticas desarrolladas por el PT entre 2003 y 2016, que impactaron en los derechos sociales y laborales? ¿aportaron estas políticas elementos mayoritariamente positivos y adelantos, o resultaron en fracasos que amplificaron la profunda crisis que abatió los gobiernos del PT? El objetivo de este artículo es ofrecer un balance crítico de esta experiencia con el fin de dar algunas respuestas a estas inquietudes.
