In the first place, it explores the notions of personhood from which Opus Dei social actions are organized. Besides, it presents different possible ways of analyzing these activities. This research results from the field work experience I conducted for my PhD between 2015 and 2019. The activities that Opus Dei organizes to answer poverty aim to educate, not only to the direct recipients of the activities but also to those who “give”. Then they could develop correctly in their daily and -future- professional occupations which are the way in which they can reach sainthood according to Opus Dei. This is why, involving in these actions is one of the ways in which they can become saints. By exploring the case of Opus Dei it is possible to enrich the way in which gift actions are interpreted. Este artículo se propone reflexionar en torno al modo en que las acciones sociales religiosas son entendidas. En primer lugar, explora nociones de persona sobre las cuales se organiza la labor solidaria del Opus Dei. Además, piensa en las formas en que podrían ser concebidas este tipo de instancias. El escrito surge del trabajo de campo que realicé con motivo de mi tesis doctoral entre el 2015 y el 2019. En definitiva, las actividades que el Opus Dei despliega para atender la cuestión de la pobreza tienen como objetivo la formación, no solo de los destinatarios directos sino de quienes “dan”, para que puedan desarrollarse correctamente en sus ámbitos cotidianos o profesionales futuros que son ámbito de santidad según el grupo. Por eso, la implicación en estas instancias es uno de los modos en que pueden alcanzar lo que se les requiere. En este sentido, es posible complejizar y sumar a las interpretaciones que usualmente se hacen de estos fenómenos mediante el caso aquí presentado. Este artigo tenta refletir sobre o modo em que as ações sociais religiosas são entendidas. Primeiro, explora as noções de pessoa sobre as que a labor solidária do Opus Dei se organiza. Além disso, pensa nas formas nas quais essas atividades poderiam ser compreendidas. O trabalho surge da pesquisa de campo que fiz para meu doutorado entre 2015 e 2019. As atividades que o Opus Dei desenvolve para responder à questão da pobreza tem como objetivo a formação, não só para os destinatários diretos mas também para quem “dá”, para que possam se desenvolver corretamente nos seus âmbitos cotidianos e profissionais futuros que são a forma de chegar a se tornar santo segundo o grupo. Por isso, a implicação nessas ações é um dos modos em que podem alcançar a santidade. Assim, é possível complexar às interpretações que usualmente se fazem desses fenômenos mediante o caso do Opus Dei.
