Sumario:In this article we propose to account for the constitution of the field of environmental education in Argentina, as well as to consider the formulation of educational policies related to the environment in the Province of Santa Fe. We approach the work from a socio-anthropological approach, which considers public policies as socially and culturally situated processes. Within the framework of this approach, the methodological strategy involved the reconstruction of a corpus of various official documents, seeking to highlight their relationship with different social and contextual networks. We believe that the development of educational policies linked to the environment in Santa Fe is related to the emergence of certain socio-environmental conflicts in the public arena, driven by actors of social relevance. We also propose that the field of environmental education is a field with weak training in which debates, disputes and interests are expressed from dissimilar positions, those who try to define the political meaning of the educational strategy.
