In this regard, we attempt to account for the chaos, uncertainty and the constantly improvised and abrupt maneuvers that often characterize the actions of the so-called organized crime, especially when its activity is established around the illegal drug market. For this purpose, we focus on the situation of the city of Rosario to highlight some general aspects of the structuring process of criminal groups around the drug market, the commercial logics that run through it, the great variety of actors involved and how they make use of violence. El presente trabajo tiene por objeto polemizar con las representaciones que circulan en muchos artículos periodísticos y académicos que abordan la problemática criminal. Al respecto, se procura dar cuenta del caos, la incertidumbre, las maniobras incesantes, improvisadas y abruptas que caracterizan muchas veces al accionar del llamado crimen organizado, en especial, cuando su actividad se establece en torno al mercado ilegal de drogas. A los efectos, nos centramos en la situación de la ciudad de Rosario para destacar algunos aspectos generales del proceso de estructuración de los grupos criminales en función de dicho negocio, las lógicas comerciales que lo atraviesan, la gran variedad de actores y la forma en la que hacen uso de la violencia.
