| Sumario: | In this paper I will address La villa by César Aira and Los fantasmas del masajista by Mario Bellatin focusing on the relationship between literature and art, more precisely, between literature and performance, the latter understood as the practice that places bodies in front of an audience. I will take into account the way in which the characters - through certain procedures - develop social and artistic practices, ritualization that lead to what Schechner calls “restoration of behavior”, a key concept in order to consider these scenes as performance. When focusing on this, we can observe a specific interrelationship between bodies, writing and art in connection with the performance as reading device. |
