This paper proposes a critical dialogue between Antonio Benítez Rojo's work in the characterization of the Caribbean and other specific literary works by Césaire, García Márquez and Walcott in order to configure, through Campos's writing career, a poetics of the Caribbean that could integrate identity and territory in its insular dimensions, the multiple paths of writing and the meaning of History in line with a specific rhythmicity in the Caribbean. La forza del destino de Julieta Campos bien puede resguardar la concreción de una poética del Caribe a partir de su tratamiento de la Historia y la insularidad. El presente texto entabla un diálogo crítico entre las propuestas de Antonio Benítez Rojo para la caracterización del Caribe y obras concretas de Césaire, García Márquez y Walcott en orden de configurar, a través de la trayectoria literaria de Campos, una poética del Caribe que pueda integrar identidad y territorio en sus dimensiones insulares, los caminos de la escritura y el sentido de la Historia en consonancia con cierta ritmicidad específica del Caribe.
