In both episodes, references to the work of the French writer Maurice Blanchot are fundamental for the construction of the idea of "reading" that is developed there. In addition, we argue that these interventions in the framework of Argentine literary and cultural criticism can be understood as signs of what Paul de Man calls "resistance to theory". To demonstrate this, we include towards the end of the paper an analysis of the book La edad de la lectura published in 1992 by Juan Ritvo. En este trabajo proponemos un análisis de dos casos que permiten situar en 1985 un momento de verdadera condensación de las teorizaciones sobre la lectura en Argentina: nos referimos al texto “El ensayo, un género culpable” de Eduardo Grüner, publicado en Sitio, y a la clase inaugural que Juan Bautista Ritvo dictó en la Universidad Nacional de Rosario a propósito de la creación de la cátedra Teoría de la lectura. En ambos episodios las referencias a la obra del escritor francés Maurice Blanchot son fundamentales para la construcción de la idea de “lectura” que allí se desarrolla. Además, sostenemos que estas intervenciones en el marco de la crítica literaria y cultural argentina pueden entenderse como señalamientos de lo que Paul de Man denomina “resistencia a la teoría”. Para demostrar esto, incluimos hacia el final del trabajo un análisis del libro La edad de la lectura publicado en 1992 por Juan Ritvo.
