| Sumario: | In the context of the creation and growth of small and medium-sized publishing houses in the 21st century, I noticed a return of “lo negro” in several Argentine collections and publishing houses dedicated to crime fiction: Negro Absoluto from Aquilina publisher, Extremo Negro from Del Extremo editorial group, Tinta Roja from Editorial Universitaria de Villa María (Eduvim), Marea Negra from Letra Sudaca, Código Negro from Punto de Encuentro, Opus Nigrum from Vestales, La Pulpa Americana (even though this collection is directed towards other genres) and Evaristo Noir from Evaristo, as well as the complete Revólver catalogue. Probably no other genre has experienced the parallel creation of several collections in this century as the crime fiction has. I find this phenomenon worthy of attention. Hence, I interviewed the editors and / or directors of these collections and publishing houses. I believe the description and analysis of their points of view —on the selection of authors and texts, on the process of production, distribution and marketing, etc.— offers significant perspectives on the evolution of crime fiction in Argentina in recent years. |
