In this way, the images of the city, space where thought becomes decomposition, could be thought of as a sustained denial of the territory of the literal. Resumen: El presente trabajo se propone una lectura de la relación imagen-pensamiento-ciudad en el último libro de Juan Bautista Ritvo, Venezia, (2017). Dicha propuesta nos permite pensar de qué modo la figura del ensayista, a lo largo de la extensa obra de Ritvo, se ha ido modificando desde una escritura del despliegue conceptual, hasta llegar a una escritura de la sensación como experiencia, la cual, entre otras cosas, permite llevar adelante el cruce de diversos registros: biografía, erudición, psicología, poesía, filosofía, pintura. De este modo, las imágenes de ciudad, espacio en donde el pensamiento se vuelve descomposición, podrían pensarse como una sostenida denegación del territorio de lo literal.
