Latin American literature Spanish Civil War Cultural imaginary This article aims at proposing a research on the Latin-American literary production which takes place within the context of the Spanish Civil War in 1937. During the year previously mentioned, three political and cultural aspect of the war are interwoven. These ones have an effect on the Latin-American writings: the report of the increasing warlike violence, guidelines about the role of the intellectual which are established in writers’ conferences and the act of remembering when tribute is paid to the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca in his first disappearance anniversary. Latin-American writings related to the war took place in several cities of Europe and Latin America, which worked as truly “poles of assembly”. This research reveals the fact that it is not possible to define the production, the hegemony and the flow of the symbolic goods according to the rationale of the national cultural fields and it establishes that those writings strengthened the imaginary of the poet who was in the war in order to make up available files. Este artículo propone un relevamiento de la producción literaria latinoamericana en el contexto de la Guerra Civil Española durante el año 1937. Durante este año, se entrelazaron tres aspectos de la producción políticocultural de la guerra que repercutieron en esas escrituras: la violencia bélica, los lineamientos acerca del rol del intelectual definidos en los congresos de escritores y la cuestión de la memoria en los homenajes al poeta español Federico García Lorca en el primer aniversario de su desaparición. La escritura latinoamericana de la guerra se produjo asimismo en diversas ciudades de Europa y América Latina que funcionaron como verdaderos “polos de religación”. Este relevamiento pone en evidencia que no es posible definir la producción, hegemonía y circulación de los bienes simbólicos por la lógica de los campos culturales nacionales y establece que estos escritos consolidaron imaginarios del poeta en guerra que conformarían archivos en disponibilidad.
