| Sumario: | This article analyzes the news reports about the Chaco War (1932- 1935) published by González Tuñón in the daily Crítica, (1932). In that journey Tuñón makes an attempt at different ways in his writing works introducing them into his journalism. With certain peculiarities somewhat inaugural, it is apparent here there is a definite passage in his literary and professional itinerary, as an avant-garde and social artist: the transition in his chronicles towards becoming a political-activist, militant and antiwar writer. We study the characteristics that in these chronicles resent the committed poet who insistently appears later in his production and allow us to review some of the learned and rehearsed methods in his journalism.
