The goal of this lines is offering a structural approach for contrasting and assessing 4T´s economy. It´s based in three key concepts proposed by a distinguished exponent of CEPAL: driving force, axis-sector and fundamental contradiction. These are applied to analyze the models of Import substitution (ISI), Secondary-Export (neoliberal) and 4T development models. The result is that neoliberal and 4T are similar in the driving force and fundamental contradiction. But that force is complemented by the impulse of domestic market in the recent model. It follows that economic growth in 4T is more balanced, but also more prone to competitiveness shocks.
