That is, the contexts that are diachronically weaved together by this1960’s reading of the tragedy’s protagonist. Thus, it is in this confrontation where Lacan plays his controversial hand, which therefore becomes political. Secondly, emphasis will be placed on what he observes about Antigone, her beautiful individuality, which leads him to highlight the purity of her desire. To this end, a synchronic analysis will be conducted of the interpretation we read in The Seminar’s classes devoted to Antigone. Finally, possible derivations opened up by the Lacanian interpretation will betraced, on the basis of understanding ethics in psychoanalysis as an endless task. En este trabajo se intentará situar la lectura de Antígona, de Sófocles, que Lacan realiza en El Seminario 7, como un momento crucial de la enseñanza de Lacan, pero intermedio, de tránsito. En pos de este propósito, en primer lugar, se compararán los contextos culturales e históricos con los que Lacan discute a raíz de su interpretación de la obra de Sófocles. Es decir, los contextos que hilvana diacrónicamente esa particular lectura de 1960 de la protagonista de la tragedia. De modo que es en esta discusión comenzada donde Lacan juega su polémica carta que deviene, por tanto, política. En segundo lugar, el énfasis estará puesto en qué observa de Antígona, de su bella individualidad, que lo lleva a destacar la pureza de su deseo; para ello, se analizará sincrónicamente la interpretación que leemos en las clases de El Seminario dedicadas a Antígona. Finalmente, se seguirán las posibles derivas que abre la interpretación lacaniana, a partir de entender la ética en psicoanálisis como una tarea interminable.
