Freud Language Metapsychology This paper investigates the notion of translation in Freud’s 15th Introduc-tory Lecture Uncertainties and Criticisms. It explores whether Freud’s uses of the word translation and its appearances in the text are simply descriptive, or if they are aimed at a conceptual use, either metapsychological or clinical. I observe that while the occurrences of the term in the lecture do not appear strictly conceptual, they do point to important aspects of the relationship between psychoanalysis and translation. I explore its different meanings, which I have classified as technical, metaphorical or metapsychological uses of the word translation in psychoanalysis. These observations highlight the relevance of the relationship between the two theoretical corpora (psychoanalysis and translation) and the need for further studies in this field. En el marco de una investigación más amplia acerca de la articulación entre psicoanálisis y traducción, el presente artículo tiene el propósito de indagar y verificar el estatuto de la noción de traducción en la conferencia freudiana número 15a, titulada “Incertezas y críticas”. La pregunta que nos moviliza consiste en saber si los usos hechos por Freud del vocablo traducción, sus apariciones en el texto, adquieren un uso sencillamente descriptivo, o si se podría afirmar que se apunta a un uso conceptual, metapsicológico o clínico. A partir de la lectura realizada, constatamos que, si bien las ocurrencias del término en la conferencia no nos autorizan a considerarlo estrictamente conceptual, sí señalanaspectos importantes de la articulación entre psicoanálisis y traducción. Se rastrearon diferentes acepciones que hemos designado como técnicas, metafóricas y metapsicológicasde la traducción en Psicoanálisis. Asimismo, indican la pertinencia de la articulación entre los corpora teóricos (Psicoanálisis y Traducción) y la necesidad de estudios ulteriores en ese terreno.
